One of the first things everyone should know about contact lenses is that they are not for everyone. A variety of different eye conditions may prevent you from using contact lenses to correct your vision, and the only way to determine your candidacy is by undergoing a contact lens focused eye exam.

Fittings involve taking detailed measurements of your eyes’ shape and size. This helps us determine which style of contact lenses would be right for you, ranging from simple conventional contact lenses to specialty ones.
We’ll teach you how to properly insert, remove, and clean your contact lenses before we give you a couple of trial pairs. Trial lenses allow us to monitor how well your eyes are adjusting to wearing contact lenses, and to catch any issues or irregularities that could lead to more severe problems.
If you experience any discomfort while wearing your new contact lenses, please remove them and contact us as soon as possible.
Scleral contact lenses are larger than regular contacts and sit on the sclera (whites) of your eyes instead of your cornea. These contacts are specially designed for people who have trouble wearing regular contacts, including those with corneal conditions like keratoconus.
Clear vision relies on both our corneas and our crystalline lenses. These two parts have different spherical aberrations (positive for your cornea, and negative for your crystalline lens), which typically compensate for one another, creating a neutral aberration and giving us clear vision.
However, as we age, the optical performance of our crystalline lenses changes, creating a net positive aberration and causing our vision to gradually worsen. Aspheric contact lenses can compensate for this net positive aberration by balancing out this positive aberration so you can continue to enjoy clear vision as you age.
Astigmatism occurs when your eyes incorrectly bend light on both the horizontal and vertical axis, resulting in blurry vision at all distances. Toric contact lenses are specifically designed to counteract astigmatism and are specially weighted to keep them rotationally stable throughout the day.
If you need multiple prescriptions to help see clearly, you may be a match for multifocal contact lenses. Multifocals are designed to accommodate multiple prescriptions and can help patients with myopia, presbyopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism.
Hybrid contact lenses use 2 distinct materials: a rigid gas-permeable (RGP) center surrounded by a soft hydrogel skirt. This combination provides the crisp, clear vision of RGP lenses with the increased stability and comfort of soft contact lenses.
